Write a homepage headline people understand
Tell visitors what you do, who it is for, and why it matters.
Write for a customer
Start with the result your customer wants. Use everyday language. A visitor should not have to decode a slogan to understand your service.
Add the useful details
Put your service and location in a short supporting sentence. For example: “Bookkeeping for small businesses in Chico. Keep your books current and know where your money goes.”
Ask a real person
Show the headline to someone outside your business. Ask what you sell and who it helps. Use their confusion to improve your wording.
Your one thing today
Draft three headlines. Choose the clearest one and ask one person to explain it back to you.
